Explore broad applications of Zener diodes

Industry-standard packages with up to 430 miliwatt power dissipation

The package options for our Zener diodes include small-outline transistor (SOT)-23 and small-outline diode (SOD)-523, each with specific advantages and footprints.

Benefits:

• 430mW of power dissipation in the SOT-23 package type is suitable for high-power applications.

• SOT- and SOD-style packages allow for flexibility in printed circuit board design and board layout.

Versatile circuit protection

Our MMBZ diodes have a ±30kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) rating and are available in both commercial and automotive SOT-23 variants, making them suitable for ESD and transient voltage suppression protection in a range of applications.

Benefits:

• The common anode configuration allows for two-channel unidirectional or one-channel bidirectional with the same device.

• Low capacitance supports data-line protection.

Operation at low currents

The Zener diode noise phenomenon requires characterizing the performance of Zener diodes at low currents in order to provide stable voltage regulation. For low-operating-current applications, our 8.2V Zener diodes exhibit low Zener voltage drift in the 50µA-to-500µA test current range.

Benefits:

• Small multisource package options save printed circuit board space as well as bill-of-materials costs compared to regulator integrated circuits.
