AM2 MCUs are engineered for real-time control, delivering powerful and efficient systems. Optimized signal chain (analog-to-digital converter read to PWM write) results in <1us control-loop latency. Advanced features include high-resolution PWMs (150ps) and hardware comparators support complex control schemes and high switching frequencies.

The on-chip programmable real-time unit (PRU) subsystem enables efficient, low-latency processing for tasks like digital signal processing and sensor data handling. This allows the main processor to focus on general tasks while offloading computationally expensive or time-critical workloads to the PRU. The programmable nature of the PRU cores accelerates this process.
